Q: How did this tour to Japan and Europe come about and will this be your first time over there?
A: Good question. I've answered a similar question recently. A lot of it came from my own searching and self promotion. Finding the right contacts and reaching out to them. Once I lined up the proper opportunities and the interest was shown on both ends. I jumped at the most beneficial chances I could take and nature sort of took its course and ironed everything out. I am very lucky and grateful for the opportunities that I have been given and look forward to making the most out of them. Yes this will be my first time wrestling, training, and visiting both Japan and Europe.
Q: With your Lucha style of wrestling do you imagine that it will be hard to adapt to the European and Japanese styles of wrestling? Will you train to wrestle in the Japanese and European styles of wrestling?
A: Absolutely not. My goal in wrestling is to able to hybridize all of the great styles of wrestling into one. Because of that; I go into all types of training and matches with a completely open mind in order to learn and adapt to the style of choice in the environment that I am in. Additionally, I believe foreign fans enjoy seeing something that is unique and different. So, using my American and Lucha Libre styles in these different territories will be beneficial to me as far as I see it because it is not the typical wrestling that the people are used to seeing. However, Yes; I will be training extensively in both styles (Japanese and European) in order to give myself more of an advantage in matches as I will be able to comprehend and not only read the style of my opponents but also be able to surprise them with the styles that I am already familiar with.
Q: I hear from a lot of wrestlers that they do not like to go Wrestling shows unless they are apart of the show. Does this apply for you as well?
A: In most cases it does. For a variety of reasons but mainly because most wrestling shows I do not have very much interest in seeing top to bottom. Being a wrestler changes your perspective of a lot of things including what wrestling you enjoy seeing. Another reason is simply due to business. As a professional, I charge a price to appear and perform on events. If I am willing to travel and appear on an event for free then what would initiate a promoter to want to pay for (nearly) the exact same thing? Or if I am sitting in the crowd at a wrestling show as a fan, why would a casual (non-wrestler) wrestling fan have a desire to see me or even believe that I am special? Not that I think I am above doing that but as a performer you cannot overexpose yourself in that way in my opinion.
