Q: Question is related to a match you posted in the newsletter #18. It is about Black Spider (one of your partners) turning on you. How do you as a wrestler feel when that happens? What caused him to do that? Why do it in the ring? Were you two friends or just thrown together as a tag team? What goes through your mind when it is happening?
A: When a partner or a long time friend not only turns his back on you, but on the fans as well it always come as a shock. In this case, Black Spider (former opponents, mind you) and I had a miscommunication in the final fall causing me to hit him. Rather than understanding and concentrating on the opponents at hand he lost self control and attacked me not only ending what friendship we had established and his trust from the fans in Tijuana, MX; but also his chances at victory that night. When it happens it is disappointing but I am now determined to give Black Spider back what he gave me ten-fold.
Q: Have you ever considered not taking a match against someone that has a huge size advantage over you and/or someone that you know wants to injure you? Or do you just take the matches you are given.
A: For the most part I take every opportunity given to me and luckily have come out (relatively) unharmed. Of course I understand that some matches I am going to have to endure more but also understand it is more than the desire to perform and show up when advertised for my fans; which is already more than enough. It is also money to put food on the table and a means to get by as a full time independent professional wrestler. You have to be able to do what is necessary not only as an athlete, but as a businessman as well .
Q: When you are a title holder for a promotion do they pay you more or does it not matter?
A: Generally Yes. Although that again is going to vary on the wrestler, promotion, and significance of the championship and/or match.
